Azure Boards — charts and Power BI

Today I want to show you, how you can use Power BI to analyze your projects’ statistics.

We can do it directly on a project website. For example, we can create our own query. In this case, I’ve created an All items query.

Choose this query and go to a Chart tab, where we can make simple charts.

It is a good solution in many cases. But when we want to do more complicated, flexible analysis or simply share a report to users we can use Power BI.

We can access data from an Azure Boards using an Azure DevOps data source.

We have an access to views from the Analytics Views menu position.

The Analytics views section needs to be enabled and users need to have credentials assigned. Details are in the Microsoft Docs document.
